Winter Update!

In honor of the first snow day for much of our region, here is a winter update! If you are looking to register for Spring, the following divisions have waiting lists - U5, U6, U8Co-ed and U8 Girls. There are some openings in our other divisions, which can be found at http://www.eayso.org. You can get your player on a waiting list at the same site.

For those new to AYSO this year, Fall and Spring are one season, just separated by months. If you registered for Fall, you are registered for Spring, on the same team, with the same coach. For Spring, we will need more volunteers for things like Field Support, so please contact us if you have interest in helping, we can use everyone we can get! In the meantime, stay warm and dream of sunny days of soccer to come. Happy Holidays everyone!

Schedule Updates

Happy Tuesday Soccer Families! We had a great first weekend of play, thank you everyone for all of your support!

Please take another look at the schedules - there has been a field assignment change to U8-Coed, and U10-Girls games have been moved up 30 minutes to start at 11am. Schedules are here.

Please also note the Field Map we have if you had any trouble finding your field or want to be prepared for this weekend! Field Map

First Weekend Updates!

Please be sure to check the Game Schedules,Concession and Field Assignments here. There have been a handful of minor changes and updates to concessions and fields - don't worry, no game times have changed!

The weather forecast for this weekend looks fairly wet - please remember we play rain or shine - however, thunder and lightening will suspend play for at least 30 minutes.

For those of you still looking to register, please know that the following divisions are now closed and on waiting lists - U5, U6, U8Girls and U8Coed. There are a handful of openings in the upper divisions!

Getting Player Schedules Updated, Soccer Season is Here!

At long last, we have secured all needed coaches and have posted most game schedules hereMany teams are holding practices this week, and our first games will be this Friday night/Saturday morning!

We will have our final pre-season Region Store night tomorrow, September 6, from 6-8pm, at the Drake Road Soccer Complex. Any coaches who have yet to pick up equipment or uniforms (if applicable) can do so during this time, and parents who need to purchase shorts, socks, shin guards, cleats, or any other supplies are welcome to stop in as well!

Getting Ready for Some Soccer? Thank you Parent-Coaches!!

Thank you so much for those of you who spent this rainy Saturday morning at Coach Training! Your commitment to our kids is so appreciated. We are excited to share that we have trained 20 coaches in our region so far this year!

Most coaches now have their rosters and will be contacting parents soon, if they haven't already. Practices may start this coming week, but may not start until the following week depending on coach assignments and schedules. We are finalizing game schedules and will post them here when they are done.

We STILL need several U8 coaches and at least one U14. If you can help with this, please contact Blake Crocker (blake@crockerlawfirm.com) or Kristin Marschner (kkmars@charter.net) immediately so we can get you certified and set up with a team!

Thank you all! It's going to be a great season of soccer!

This Week's Update!

Our final coach training is this Saturday, August 27th, at SoccerZone in Oshtemo from 8am to Noon. Please sign up through eAYSO, or send us an email! Coaches who are trained and do not have their rosters yet can pick them up there during this time.

Our Regional Store, located at the Drake Road Soccer Complex, will be open August 30 and September 6th for equipment purchases and pickup for coaches from 6-7:30PM each evening.

We are still looking for coaches in the following divisions - U5(1 coach needed), U6(2), U8(6), U8Girls(2), U12(2), U14(1). If you haven't heard from your coach yet, they either still need training before they can pick up a roster, or there isn't one assigned yet! Please consider signing up for training on Saturday if you are able to help!

We are getting close to kicking off a great season, thank you for all your support!

Additional Coach Training!

We have scheduled an additional coach training for Saturday, August 27th, from 8am - 12pm at Soccer Zone in Oshtemo. Please see our Facebook for more details. We STILL desperately need more coaches! If you are planning to stay for the games, there is a good chance you have time to coach, and we will teach you everything you need to know. Please let us know if you have any interest in helping with this, and we will get you to the right people.

Also, all divisions are still open, if you haven't registered your player yet, sign up today at eAYSO.org!

Fall 2016 Season Updates!

Coaching training tomorrow, August 13, begins at 8am at Soccer Zone in Oshtemo. Please see our Facebook for more details. The previously scheduled Referee training for tomorrow has been cancelled due to a conflict with the trainer's availability. You will be contacted with more information about this separately.

We desperately need more coaches! Many of you have already offered to assist and RSVPd for the training, and we thank you for that! If you have given any thought to coaching and have availability tomorrow morning, please come to Soccer Zone for training. At this point, we need approximately the following number of coaches per division:

  • U5 - 9
  • U6 - 5
  • U8 - 15
  • U10 - 6 or more
  • U12 - 6
  • Upper divisions - TBD, but definitely need more!
  • We are waiting to see what additional signups occur through this weekend for U10 Girls - at this point, we do not have a enough for girls only teams, so that is the reason the coach number is not set - we have not finalized the number of teams and won't until this decision is made after the weekend.

We may have additional coaching training later in the month, but we have to secure a trainer. If you are willing to consider coaching but cannot make it tomorrow, please let me know and I will keep you on the list to be contacted about subsequent training.

Also, if you are interested in coaching, you MUST go to eayso.org and register as a volunteer.

For non-coaching parents, practices will begin the week of August 29 - you will be contacted by your coach prior to that with practices days/times/locations. Games will start the week of September 10. There is a great deal of support needed on game days as well, please let us know if you are interested in helping with field support, concessions, etc., and we will put you in touch with the right person!

We are planning to have the store open this month on August 16th & August 18th from 6-8PM each day to purchase gear.

Thank you so much your help in making this a great season for our kids!

Fall Registration is Going on Now!

No, it's not too late to register! This is the most popular question this week, so we want to answer it for everyone. We are in the process of confirming coaches, forming teams, and of course seeking more volunteers! If you are thinking about registering a child and registering yourself to volunteer, you can do it all at eAYSO.org!

Remember, our program is run entirely by volunteers, so whether you have an hour a month or you want to offer a solid 40 hours per week of work, we want to hear from you!

Save the Date for 2016/2017 Coach Training!

More volunteer communication will be coming to you by email in the coming week or two. However, if you have not already filled out a volunteer application at eAYSO.com, please do this as well, as it allows us to complete the required background check!

Thoughts and Prayers with Jenn Johnson

Kalamazoo AYSO Families and Friends-

All of us here at AYSO 211 are shocked at Tuesday night’s crash involving a group of bicyclists in Kalamazoo. The Registrar for AYSO Region 211, Jennifer Johnson, was among those riding and injured in the tragic event and currently she is listed in fair condition. Jennifer is a valuable member of our regional board and we ask that the AYSO community keep Jennifer and her family, along with all of those affected by this tragedy, in their thoughts and prayers.
